Who Are Ya? (World Cup 2006)
Kenwyne Jones
It is of course Kenwyne Jones, the man who lit it up in England in the late 00s and early 10s. He was a pretty lethal striker when on form, and according to some stories told by himself, he had been just moments from joining Liverpool at the height of his form. Although the move never materialised, he still leaves behind a solid reputation as a decent striker and at only 36, he may just pop up somewhere once again. He’s certainly available as a free-agent on Football Manager 2021 if you fancy getting him in your side.
As for his performance in the 2006 World Cup, well we must be realistic here, his Trinidad side did incredibly well to get to the tournament and earn a 0-0 with a decent Ukraine team, and was just 10 minutes from a shock result against England. I vividly remember the England-Trinidad game and my excitement when England scored in the final few moments, so the Caribbean side stick firmly in my mind.
