Not me that’s for sure, and because of that Eric Dier will always have a place in my heart. With quite a unique start to his footballing career, with few English players ever really breaking through with clubs overseas, Dier has had quite the footballing education. The academy at Sporting has produced some serious talent over the years, and Dier is a graduate of their system who has certainly become an established star back in England.
His latest season certainly hasn’t been the most breath-taking, as Spurs have struggled to recapture the performances of recent seasons with Mourinho at the helm. However, it will be interesting to see the future plans at the club and what this could mean for everyone involved, including Dier.
