September 2026 seen the Premier League season develop further, and despite only having games for the first half of the month before the international break, we had 3 rounds of games where some teams truly took a step up to maintain their positive starts, while some players made stand-out contributions to ensure their team looks dangerous in the lead-up to the extended break.

Pascal Gross has been rolling back the years in September 2026, and despite being 35 years of age, his efforts have seen Brighton produce some huge results over Coventry, Arsenal and in the League Cup against Manchester United. In his 3 league outings, Gross managed to produce 2 goals and 3 assists in just 2 of the 3 outings, while also bagging a 3rd goal in the League Cup win, making him a standout performer to the start of the season.

September 5th: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Leeds United – Starting September with his quietest game, Brighton and Leeds played out a 1-1 draw in which Gross was still involved but couldn’t make the difference. He managed the most shots (5) and covered almost 12km in distance during the game, but this fairly quiet outing compared with what’s to come earned the German midfielder a 6.6/10 FotMob rating to start the month.

September 13th: Coventry City 0-5 Brighton & Hove Albion – After a quiet start, Brighton and Pascal Gross put in their most dominant display against Coventry City as they hammered the newly promoted 10-man side 5-0 to lay down a marker for what turned into a big week. Gross was heavily involved in this display, setting up the 1st and 5th goals for his side, while tucking away a penalty to make it 3-0 and put the game truly out of reach. Along with his 3 goal contributions, the midfielder created the most chances (6), covered the most distance (11.1km) and had the most touches of any player (113), earning his month-best 9.4/10 FotMob rating.

September 19th: Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 Arsenal – Following the 5-0 display, the 3-2 comeback in the League Cup at Old Trafford, Brighton went into the international break with arguably their most impressive result as they held the reigning league champions to a clean sheet as they won comfortably 3-0 against the league’s top side. Gross was once again hugely influential as despite being the oldest player on the pitch, he covered the most distance of any player (12.6km), produced a goal and assist, maintained 100% shot accuracy and captained his side to an unbeaten month as they sit third in the table going into the break.
