POTM: PL (October 2025)

October provided another disjointed schedule, with domestic league action, cup games, European competition and another international break all being muddled into the busy calendar. As a result, picking through the Premier League player of the month has been limited, however we still had plenty of action for us to pick through.
This months NextGoalWinner player of the month winner helped his team to a 100% winning month, turning their momentum on its head and putting a manager from the verge of being sacked, to possibly a manager of the month across the league.
Bryan Mbeumo bagged 3 goals and 1 assist for his club, and 1 more goal for country as the month was perfect for United, beating Sunderland, Brighton and in particular rivals Liverpool, as Amorim turned the narrative thanks to Mbeumo’s huge efforts this month, making him worthy of the award.

Match By Match
October 4th: Manchester United 2-0 Sunderland – Opening the month with a confident win at home, United breezed past Sunderland, with Mbeumo being the provider for Mount’s early opener. With United staying in the game throughout, adding a quick second in the first-half, it was a way of easing themselves into the international break, and set them up with some morale ahead of 2 tricky clashes to come.
October 19th: Liverpool 1-2 Manchester United – After the international break travels in which Mbeumo bagged a goal in a late cameo win against Mauritius and failing to get on the scoresheet against Angola, he returned to domestic action with a tricky test against Liverpool. With United building some momentum thanks to the Sunderland win, it took just 2 minutes for Mbeumo to open the scoring with a strong finish and setup. While the rest of the game was largely defensive, Mbeumo’s early finish and consistent threat kept United in the game including late on when Maguire bagged the winner.
October 25th: Manchester United 4-2 Brighton & Hove Albion – Ending the month in style, and quite chaotic fashion, Mbeumo’s efforts helped ensure a winning month for United in October, with a brace in the 61st and 96th minute, securing the points and the performance despite a late Brighton fightback. With 3 goals and 1 assist for the month with United, he has been hugely influential in his early spell at the club, and showing how valuable his signing has been.
