POTM (Premier League) – November 2024

November saw the build up the festive period take full effect, and as the football calendar became packed with action across various competitions, we saw European competitions, the final international break of 2024 and of course some pretty intense and exciting league action. With a whole host of footballing action, picking out a player of the month was a fairly tough task, but one player stood out among the action.

This months NextGoalWinner player of the month winner is a player who despite potentially playing out his final season at his current club, is hitting his own career record breaking numbers in terms of goals and assists, and seems to be helping his team cruise to the league title, while also looking strong in every competition thus far.

Mohamed Salah has played a pivotal role in helping Liverpool to their unbelievably dominant start to the season, and as the action comes thick and fast, his work in November has been pivotal to their lead in the league table, their perfect start in the Champions League and the domestic cup progress we’ve seen so far. With 5 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool in November, Salah produced 4 goals and 3 assists across the games to be a deserving POTM award winner once again.

Match By Match

November 2nd: Liverpool 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion – Starting off his November in style, Mo Salah helped in adding Liverpool’s second goal just 3 minutes after Gakpo’s equaliser in the 69th minute. With one scare avoided early in the month, it was all up from here for Salah and Liverpool. With a 7.9/10 FotMob rating, it was the lowest score of his 3 Premier League appearances, but still a strong showing from the player as he helped in maintaining Liverpool’s strong league position.

November 9th: Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa – Continuing his great form after 2 assist in the midweek Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool returned once again to Anfield as they overcame a potentially tricky encounter with Aston Villa. With Salah being fully involved in the goals here as he set up the first for Nunez in the 20th minute and then added the second in the 84th minute, it was a proper man of the match showing from the forward, at his very best. With his goal and assist bringing his total to 2 goals and 3 assists so far for the month, there was even more still to come.

November 24th: Southampton 2-3 Liverpool – Rounding off the 100% perfect month of November for Liverpool and Salah, they had their closest scare as struggling Southampton nearly produced one of the shocks of the season as they countered the opener from Szoboszlai with 2 goals to put them in front. That was until Salah stepped up when needed and showed his quality once again, with a goal in the 65th minute before a winning penalty in the 85th minute. Bringing up goal 3 and 4 for the month rounded off a terrific month of action for player and club, and brought his league average to 8.5/10. There was also the final appearance of November to follow just days later as Liverpool claimed a big win over Real Madrid in the Champions League, where Salah had a decent showing but the quietest of the month.
