POTM (Europe) – November 2024

November saw the build up the festive period take full effect, and as the football calendar became packed with action across various competitions, we saw European competitions, the final international break of 2024 and of course some pretty intense and exciting league action. With a whole host of footballing action, picking out a player of the month was a fairly tough task, but one player stood out among the action.

This months NextGoalWinner player of the month winner is a player who had a stellar November for his club, and with the varied month split either side of the international break, his upturn in form didn’t show any sign of stopping even with the hectic schedule.

Moise Kean has played a pivotal role in helping Fiorentina to a 100% November record, including 3 Serie A victories and their Conference League victory also. He made 2 cameo appearances for Italy in their win over Belgium and defeat to France in the Nations League games also. His 5 goals in 3 Serie A games makes him a worthy winner of the POTM award for November, and for Fiorentina, they will hope this run of form can continue well into 2025.

November 3rd: Torino 0-1 Fiorentina – Starting off his November in style, Keane was the difference maker in their opening game of November, as the away trip to Torino was settled by his goal in the 41st minute to pick up a big 3 points and start the month off exactly as they would have hoped. With 1 shot, 1 goal, his 100% returns were the difference in a back and forth clash, but along with the defensive work from Fiorentina, they were able to secure the win.

November 10th: Fiorentina 3-1 Hellas Verona – Continuing his great form the following week, it was again Kean’s goals that were crucial in another victory for Fiorentina, and this time Keane bagged all 3 in a more comfortable victory at home against Verona. With an early 4th minute opener, Fiorentina were pegged back a few minutes later, but Kean persisted and scored in the 59th minute to put his side back ahead, and then secured the win in the 92nd minute to round off his hattrick in style. Despite picking up a yellow card, having the fewest touches and losing the most duels, this was a MOTM performance in which Keane showed his clinical finishing and how crucial he has become for Fiorentina in the goal returns.

November 24th: Como 0-2 Fiorentina – Sandwiched between the international break in which Keane made 2 substitute appearances for Italy in their Nations League games, and the Conference League win over Pafos FC in which Kean didn’t feature, Fiorentina rounded of November with 3 wins from 3, as they travelled to Como and picked up a win thanks to the opening goal from Adli, before Kean added the 2nd in the 68th minute. Making it 5 goals in 3 games, he was responsible for the majority of Fiorentina’s goals and points this month as they look to compete for European places this season. With the Conference League offering a chance to push for silverware also, they will be hoping their striker can continue this run of form well into 2025 and bring a big finish to their season.
