POTM: Europe (May 2026)

May 2026 sees the domestic action around Europe come to a close, as leagues are wrapped up, silverware is awarded and players begin to look ahead to their summer activities of the World Cup, holidays and possible transfer rumours. With players prepping for a potentially big summer, it’s been an interesting month of action with lots of great action to celebrate.
Michael Olise has reached a whole new level this season as his link-up with Kane has allowed Bayern to cruise to the Bundesliga title, and put them so painfully close to the Champions League final. In the final month of domestic action, he made 2 substitute appearances, but still managed to bag 2 goals and an assist as he ensured Bayern kept an unbeaten month of league action, and proved how important he is within the team ahead of a potentially massive summer ahead when he links up with the French national team.

May 2nd: Bayern Munich 3-3 FC Heidenheim – Although Olise didn’t start this game with an eye on other games to come this month, he made the most of his second half outing as he bagged a goal and assist to start the month and ensure Bayern didn’t suffer defeat, with Olise’s equaliser coming in the 100th minute of this clash. In just his 45 minutes, Olise bagged his 2 goal involvements and also managed to create the joint-most chances, and complete the most dribbles in the game.
May 9th: Wolfsburg 0-1 Bayern Munich – Olise was the difference maker in this crucial game for their hosts as the relegation playoff awaited them following this defeat. While Bayern have previously been free-scoring through the season, this 1 goal victory meant Bayern’s unbeaten away run continued in the league and Olise was on top form, as he bagged the games only goal, won a penalty which Kane didn’t convert, and also completed the most dribbles throughout the 90 minutes.
May 16th: Bayern Munich 5-1 1. FC Koln – Concluding the season, Olise had to settle for a 30 minute cameo with the game already out of reach for their opponents, and while Kane takes the plaudits yet again for another hat-trick, it’s been Olise who has shone above the rest of Bayern’s incredible talents in this month to be deserving of the POTM despite his quieter end to the campaign.
