January Transfer Window

January Transfer Window

The January transfer window is often a strange time in football. Over recent years we have seen some of the biggest and best transfers to arrive and leave the Premier League in the opening days of a new year, however in the last season there has been a huge reluctance to make big deals mid-season. Instead, clubs prefer to bring players in with pre-season to get up to speed. While this makes sense, it makes the month or rumours and speculation a bit more average. Instead of the likes of Haaland, Mbappe, and Kane moving, we had loan deals, negotiations with Newcastle and clubs opting to have a little clear out of their wage bill.

Therefore, while some clubs have filled voids in their squads, many of the biggest sides haven’t barely opened their chequebook, instead focussing in on their current squad and getting players back to fitness and having a clear out. It’s the mid-table/lower sides in the Premier League who have really been busiest, and there has been some impressive captures and bargains completed.

So, allow us to do a brief round-up of all the Premier League clubs’ incomings and outgoings of the past month, and give a little insight into where players have come from and where they’re going.
