POTM: Europe (November 2025)

November has been much like the months prior with it’s disjointed nature, with the domestic season ticking away as the league still takes shape, teams are still finding their standings and the other competitions in domestic cups, international football and European games perhaps takes away some of the attention in the opening weeks. However, in November it stopped being considered the start of the season, and now the excuses are no longer accepted as teams must find a way to win.

This months NextGoalWinner player of the month winner has had another busy month of action, as he helped his side to 4 wins from 6 in all competitions, with an unbeaten domestic month and only 1 off-day away in the Champions League.

Lamine Yamal has proved once again in November that he is the future and present of football in Barcelona, Spain and the world. In his 6 outings, he bagged 4 goals and 3 assists for Barcelona as they went on a 4 game winning run in La Liga, with slip ups only coming in their draw and defeat in the Champions League.

Match By Match

November 2nd: Barcelona 3-1 Elche – Opening his month with a goal inside of 9 minutes, Yamal wasted no time in putting his team ahead, backed in the 11th minute by the second. A comfortable afternoon followed as Yamal did his job, got his goal, helped secure the win and earned himself a respectable 8.0/10 FotMob rating to start proceedings.

November 9th: Celta Vigo 2-4 Barcelona – After a Champions League night in which Barcelona dropped points in the expanded league format at Brugge, in which Yamal again got himself on the scoresheet as they tried to get back into the game. A return to domestic action however saw them getting back to winning ways as Yamal got his sides 3rd goal to wrap things up just before half time against Celta Vigo. With another solid showing, he wasn’t the star man due to Lewandowski’s hat-trick, but another strong 8.6/10 FotMob rating.

November 22nd: Barcelona 4-0 Athletic Club – With their only clean sheet of the month, Yamal made up for not getting on the scoresheet himself by turning provider for the 2nd and 4th goals bagged by Ferran Torres. While he had plenty of chances himself to score, Yamal’s creativity was what shone most as he hit his first 9.1/10 FotMob rating for the month in a standout showing.

November 29th: Barcelona 3-1 Deportivo Alaves – Despite another disappointing away Champions League clash against Chelsea where Barcelona lost their only game of the month, things looked concerning as Deportivo Alaves got ahead inside of the 1st minute, however Yamal was once again back to being the saviour of his club as he bagged in the 8th minute to level things up. They didn’t look back at that point, as Yamal also was provider for the 3rd and final goal of the game for his side, and earnt his month best 9.4/10 FotMob rating, rounding off a strong month of action with only the European hiccups to put a negative on the games.
