POTM (Premier League) – November 2021
With another international break, and Champions League football in the month, November has seen football on pretty much everyday as we enter the run up to Christmas. With just 3 rounds of Premier League fixtures, a few players have really impressed, including our NextGoalWinner POTM for November, Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Keeping the award in Liverpool for the 3rd straight month, he finally took it from the grasp of Salah, thanks to his 10 goal contributions in all competitions for the month. He has been an assist machine once again, showing how he despite still being a defensive player, he is revolutionising the role under Klopp, and showing himself as an absolute superstar. A truly deserving player for this months’ award, and with him doing the job for both club and country, long may it continue.

Match By Match
November 7th: West Ham United 3-2 Liverpool – After a terrific home win in the Champions League over Atletico Madrid (where TAA bagged the two assists for his sides 2 goals) they crashed back down to earth, as they fell victim to David Moyes’ West Ham side who has seriously impressed this season and have been a thorn in the side of some big teams already. Although Liverpool will be gutted to have dropped 3 points in their quest to challenge for the title in possibly the most intriguing title race for some time, TAA was impeccable once again, getting the first goal that brought the scores to 1-1 at the half-time break, before turning provider once again for Origi’s late consolation goal. With an 8.4/10 FotMob rating he was the man of the match for his efforts, and alongside his goal influence, he also was top chance creator with 5, made 4 interceptions and produced 9 recoveries, showing how despite his attacking exploits, his defensive work rarely faltered.
November 20th: Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal – After the dramatic loss, the international break saw Trent play in both of England’s World Cup qualifiers, making a sub appearance against Albania, before playing the full 90 in San Marino, where he created 3 assists for 3 of England’s 10 on the night. A few days later and back at Anfield, Liverpool made up for the West Ham loss in style as they hammered Arsenal. Brushing them aside with ease, TAA was of course in on the action with 2 more assists to bring his assist total to 8 for the month in just 5 games. With another stunning performance (8.8/10) he was again awarded man of the match for his work, and once again was top chance creator in the game with 6. I’m sensing a bit of a pattern here.
November 27th: Liverpool 4-0 Southampton – After missing Liverpool’s midweek Champions League tie with Porto, Trent returned in the final game of the month as Liverpool produced back to back 4-0 league wins at Anfield, and although TAA only managed the 1 assist in this once, it brought him to a simply stunning 9 assists and 1 goal in 6 appearances in all competitions for the month of November (that’s how you become NextGoalWinner POTM). With an 8.3/10 rating, he created 3 chances, made 7 recoveries and put in 5 crosses in the 90 as Liverpool strolled through the South-coast side.
