May 2026 sees the season come to a close in dramatic fashion as all final placings and battles are wrapped up, and we have one eye on the summer of football ahead through the World Cup. With plenty of action to see out the season, we’ve gone through the biggest moments and clashes to give out our final POTM for the season in the Premier league.

Jeremy Doku has had a mixed start to life at Manchester City, as he has shone on huge occasions, but also at times felt like part of the collective of incredible attacking talents at their disposal. However in this final month of the season, he proved crucial in pushing Arsenal in the title race until the penultimate round of games, with 3 goals in his opening 2 outings to help City keep chase before they eventually fell behind and out of reach of the eventual champions.

Match By Match

May 4th: Everton 3-3 Manchester City – Starting the final month of the season in dramatic fashion, City handed the momentum back to Arsenal in the title race despite their late draw against Everton. Doku featured heavily in City’s attack, bagging 2 of their 3 goals including the 97th minute equaliser. Throughout the game, he also managed to create the most chances, had the most touches in the opposition box and completed the most dribbles as he helped secure a much needed point to keep their title hopes alive for another week.

May 9th: Manchester City 3-0 Brentford – Continuing his solid showing against Everton, and in their last outing before the FA Cup final, City held Arsenal in their grasp in the title race as they cruised to a win over Brentford. Doku shone once again as he bagged another goal, created the most chances, had the most touches in the opposition box and completed the most dribbles, earning back-to-back man of the match awards.

May 19th: Bournemouth 1-1 Manchester City – With his first blank of the month, Manchester City were left to rue missed chances as they conceded the title to Arsenal following this result. With Doku starting on the left, he was unable to put his side ahead and withdrawn in the 76th minute as City pushed for a different approach. While the first half of the month looked unstoppable, this slight drop off will hurt many City fans and players, but they still put in a decent shift.

May 24th: Manchester City 1-2 Aston Villa – Closing out the month and the season, Doku was only given a late cameo as City lost to Aston Villa in Pep’s last game in charge. With the FA cup success under their belt, Doku’s work was done early in the month with City still in the hunt for the title, but still a solid month to finish off the season with his 3 goals.
